WOODBRIDGE, Va., October 21, 2026 — Prince William Water’s General Manager/CEO Calvin D. Farr, Jr., P.E. was recently elected as President of the Association of Metropolitan Water Agencies’ (AMWA) Board of Directors.
AMWA represents the largest publicly owned drinking water utilities in the country, serving more than 140 million Americans. AMWA advocates for water utilities and their customers before Congress and federal agencies on crucial industry issues like infrastructure financing, PFAS (“forever chemicals”), drinking water regulation and water sector security.
“I am honored to serve as President of the AMWA Board of Directors,” said Mr. Farr, who has been CEO of Prince William Water since 2021. “This role is recognition of the work the Prince William Water team does every day, and it puts Prince William Water in the room where national water policy is shaped. The issues in front of AMWA are also the ones we are managing at Prince William Water, including water capacity, workforce development, succession planning and cybersecurity.”
AMWA’s Board of Directors includes drinking water utility executives and general managers from throughout the United States. The Board executes the association’s bylaws, provides guidance to staff on water policy issues and identifies areas where AMWA should focus its activities.
