Question: Do you worry about wastewater freezing during treatment?

Answer: Despite the freezing temperatures of winter, wastewater freezing is not a concern. The incoming wastewater is a higher temperature than the environment due to warm water used in laundry, showers, washing dishes and other household activities.

In the facility, constant movement of the water and the heat generated from the microbes used for treatment prevent any freezing. In fact, the lowest temperature of our wastewater recently was 62 degrees Fahrenheit!
